Dry and sunny all weekend: Spain weather forecast Feb 1-4
Spain will continue to enjoy spring-like conditions for at least another week
Weather outlook on Saturday February 3
The anticyclone sitting off the northern coast of Spain shows no signs of lifting for at least another week or so, meaning that the entire country will continue to enjoy spring-like weather with unseasonably high temperatures and a notable lack of rain.
The mercury has certainly fallen compared to the lofty heights it reached at the end of January, but the coming weekend promises to be dry and bright, and all-round pleasant.
Thursday February 1
The settled weather will continue on Thursday with mostly clear skies, except for the northernmost parts of the country where clouds and occasional light showers are predicted, specifically in the eastern Cantabrian Sea and northern Navarra. Additionally, the southern half of the Mediterranean coast may experience some cloud cover very early in the morning, with a chance of scattered light rain in the Strait.
Daytime temperatures will increase slightly in eastern Spain, hitting the high teens and even exceeding 20ºC in areas like Murcia and Sevilla, but few changes are expected elsewhere.
Strong winds have placed Andalucía and Catalonia on yellow alert for rough sea conditions.
Friday February 2
The weather alerts for high waves remain in place in Andalucía and Catalonia, and have been extended to the Balearic Islands. Elsewhere though a humid air flow from the north will leave a predominance of cloudy skies early on, but these should clear during the afternoon to give way to a bright and sunny day.
At the height of the day, the mercury should creep up by another couple of degrees in large parts of the south.
Saturday February 3
Very strong gusts will persist in southern Spain on Saturday so Andalucía remains on yellow alert for adverse sea conditions all day. Overcast skies and some morning mists and fog are possible in the Balearic Islands, Cantabrian Sea, Mediterranean coasts and areas of the southeast, but once these lift the skies will again be clear and bright for the most part.
Both day and night-time temperatures will remain high for this time of year, hardly dipping below the mid or high teens.
Sunday February 4
All of the weather warnings have been lifted for Sunday and the pleasant anticyclonic weather promises to continue through the last day of the weekend, although the cloud cover will strengthen in the southwest in the evening.
Day and night-time temperatures will fall along the Atlantic coast but small increases of a degree or two should be noticed everywhere else.
