Dust, thunder and a 10-degree swing before the sun returns: Murcia weather forecast Aug 27-30
Rain and thunderstorms are expected in parts of Murcia before high pressure brings clearer skies for the weekend

Weather forecast late on Thursday evening
The weather across the Region of Murcia has been unusually unsettled and hard to predict over the past couple of weeks, and this stretch is proving no exception, with rain, thunderstorms and some sharp temperature swings on the way before things calm down for the weekend.
It follows a dramatic scene caught on camera in Lorca on August 20, when a powerful storm swept through the area. Footage shared by MeteOrihuela showed a dense curtain of rain falling from the storm over Avilés, a hamlet in the Lorca municipality. MeteOrihuela described the event as a downburst, or reventón, a particularly intense burst of descending air linked to thunderstorms.
Thursday August 27

Skies will start out partly cloudy before becoming even more overcast in the afternoon, bringing light rain that's likely to be heavier in the southeastern half of the Region, where thunderstorms are also possible.
Dust may be present in the air, which could lead to muddy deposits in some areas.
Minimum temperatures will drop, while maximums will fall in the northwest and stay roughly the same or rise slightly elsewhere. Winds will be light and variable inland, with moderate southerly winds along the coast that could bring strong gusts and even very strong gusts later in the afternoon.
Friday August 28

Cloudy skies are expected for the first half of the day, with light to moderate rain and a chance of thunderstorms in the early morning, before clearing to partly cloudy or clear conditions in the afternoon.
Temperatures will drop noticeably, particularly the daytime highs in many areas. Winds will be moderate and northerly, occasionally strong with the chance of very strong gusts, before shifting to a southerly direction in the afternoon.
Saturday August 29

Expect partly cloudy skies with some high cloud drifting in during the afternoon.
Minimum temperatures will fall or stay much the same, while maximums will climb. Winds will be light and variable, tending to blow from the southeast later in the day.
Sunday August 30

As the weekend draws to a close, clear skies are forecast, with temperatures rising slightly or staying steady. Winds will be light and variable, with coastal breezes picking up through the day.
