ARCHIVED - Financial aid for registered pensioners in Alhama and Condado: are you eligible?
Applications for economic assistance in Alhama de Murcia can be made until April 22, 2023

Murcia Institute of Social Action (IMAS) has opened its 2023 round of financial aid for senior citizens.
Alhama de Murcia's Department of Social Welfare is reminding registered pensioners that they have until April 22 to apply for economic assistance, and that aid is granted on a first come, first served basis.
The assistance is aimed at people over 65 years of age who reside or are registered in the Region of Murcia and require repairs or adaptations to their permanent home or need to buy technical/mobility aids.
The criteria for financial aid is as follows:
- Must be at least 65 years of age on the date of application.
- Applicant or spouse must be a registered Social Security pensioner.
- Applicant cannot have access to other aid of a similar nature and/or for the same purpose.
- The situation of need for which the aid is requested must have occurred during the calendar year in which the call for applications was published (invoice/budget after 01-01-2023).
- Applicants must reside and be registered as a resident in one of the municipalities of the Region of Murcia on the date of application for the aid.
- The monthly income for each person living together cannot exceed:
- Single-person family unit: €1,500 per month.
- Two-person family unit: €1,050 per month .
- Family unit comprising three or more persons: €750 per person per month.
- Applicants should not own real estate, excluding the main residence or other property that is the main economic activity, the value of which exceeds €43,200.
- The income from movable capital for the last tax year must not exceed: €180.
- Applicants should not have been a beneficiary of aid for the same purpose in the previous two years (except when the situation of need is documented).
- Applicants should be able to justify any aid obtained in the previous two years.
- A foreign EU citizen must have an EU Citizen's Registration Certificate and a valid passport or identity card from their country of origin.
- Non-EU foreign nationals must have a valid residence permit.
- A person with refugee status must accredit this status or, having applied for it, meet the requirements for obtaining it.
- Requirements for aid for home repairs:
- Proof of ownership of the dwelling by the applicant or a member of the cohabitation unit.
- In the case of rented or leased housing: document from the owner authorising the works and assignment or rental contract renewable for a minimum of 4 years from the application.
- Requirements for technical aids: Proof of need by means of an updated medical report (it must be issued within the last 6 months and can be issued by a specialist or primary care doctor).
