ARCHIVED - Fugitive wanted by Belgium for rape arrested in Benalmadena, Malaga
The Belgian man, 47, was caught at Benalmádena train station in Spain
Last Thursday, Spanish National Police officers arrested a 47-year-old Belgian man wanted for rape in Benalmádena (Málaga) at the local train station.
He was the subject of a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) issued by the Belgian judicial authorities in relation to an offence against persons.
The suspect was identified by plainclothes officers at the Benalmádena train station as the subject of a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Belgian authorities in September 2021.
According to the warrant, the fugitive was sentenced to four years in prison for a crime against persons, committed between June and September 2016 in Belgium. He was subsequently placed at the disposal of the Juzgado Central de Instrucción court number 3 of the Audiencia Nacional.
