Green light for new health clinic in La Azohia
Locals in La Azohía will be pleased that the project is finally moving forward after going so long without a health centre

Cartagena City Council has finally given the green light to a project to adapt the premises that they acquired last August for the new consultorio medical clinic in La Azohía.
The premises, located at number 52 of the Urbanización de San Ginés, right next to the pharmacy, is set to be an improvement on the previous health centre in La Azohía, which has been closed since start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since then, local residents have had to travel all the way to Isla Plana for health treatment.
The new centre will be accessible from the public road, with a large terrace out front and an adjoining public parking space.
The total budget for the restoration works on the building has now been raised to 160,289 euros.
The estimated completion period is around four months, starting from the day after the reconsideration of the project.
It is slated to have administration, reception and waiting areas, a consultation room, nursing and treatment rooms, and toilets with access for people with disabilities.
