Hells Angel escapes extradition after being thrown off Ibiza flight
The suspected gang member was being flown from Spain back to Germany to face trial
A notorious leader of the Hells Angels biker gang has managed to dodge justice this week after being thrown off a repatriation flight from Ibiza to Germany following several violent outbursts.
The 37-year-old German citizen, known only as AS, was arrested by Spanish police at the beginning of September. He reportedly fled to Ibiza back in 2022 and was the subject of a European Arrest and Surrender Order (OEDE) in connection with drug trafficking crimes, specifically cocaine, methamphetamine and hashish.
The former boxer was put on a plane back to Germany on Monday October 9 where he faces 15 years behind bars, but despite a considerable armed escort, the man’s behaviour on the flight became progressively more aggressive. Finally, after a particularly violent episode, the pilot ordered that he be removed.
The prisoner was transferred back to the Ibiza Penitentiary Center.
The news comes after another German leader of the notorious Hells Angels was acquitted of all charges by Spain’s High Court on Tuesday September 26.
Frank Hanebuth allegedly ran the group’s Mallorca branch and stood trial with 44 other gang members in January. Collectively, the Hells Angels, along with three corrupt police officers, were accused of a string of crimes including murder, money laundering, extortion, prostitution, drug trafficking, illegal detention, and possession of weapons.
The prosecution originally demanded a 13 year prison sentence for Hanebuth and a 4.2 million euro fine, but he was ultimately set free.
In fact, of the extensive group, 35 have already secured plea deals and will face a maximum of two years behind bars.
