ARCHIVED - Historic steamroller restored by mechanical students in Denia
These schemes aim to prepare students for the task of finding real jobs in the future
A historic steamroller dating back to the 1940s which was subsequently purchased by the Hermandad Sindical de Labradores y Ganaderos (the Union Brotherhood of Harvesters and Livestockers of Dénia) in 1960 and used to repair the dirt tracks which were prevalent in rural areas of the Alicante province at this time, has been restored by students of the IES Maria Ibars in Dénia.
In collaboration with Automoción Maria Ibars, the students completely stripped back and restored the steamroller, in an exercise which is part of practical training to help them find employment in the future.
The steam roller will now find useful employment in the Bosc de Diana (Bosque de Diana forest and picnic area) on the outskirts of Dénia, located on Cami de Sant Joan, Dénia. (click for map)
