ARCHIVED - Joint winners of Mazarron tapas route 2022 revealed: find out which bars have the best tapa
The 'Ruta de la Tapa de las Fiestas de la Purísima' was held last December alongside Mazarrón's annual fiestas

Eleven hopeful bars and restaurants took part in Mazarrón's 'Ruta de la Tapa de las Fiestas de la Purísima' vying for the top spot and best dish in the gastronomic competiton held alongside the town's annual Fiestas Patronales last December.
And on this occasion, not just one, but two establishments came out on top, tying in first place.
Level-pegging are Restaurante Guillermo I and Restaurante Costa who Mazarrón Town Council this week praised for "creating the best tapa of the 2022 route".

During a special presentation, the mayor, Gaspar Miras, and Councillor for Festivities, Miguel Ángel Peña, presented Pedro Guillermo from Restaurante Guillermo II and Bernardino Costa from Restaurante Costa with a handmade ceramic award each, made by an artisan from Murcia.
The establishments featured in the 2022 route were: Café Bar D’Pintxos, Café Bar Miguel, Bar La Taberna, Bar Toñi, Restaurante Costa, Restaurante Guillermo II, Café Bar El Albergue, Cafetería Panadería Sánchez Artesanos, Restaurante el Pilón, Panadería Canela and Restaurante La Inesperada.
At the same time, the patrons who took part in the all-important tasting of those delicious tapas creations also had their chance to win a prize.
The main prize was given to the customer who completed the whole route, trying all the tapas available at the 11 participating bars, and he won a stay for two people in the Balneario de Archena with full board and access to the thermal pools.
Other prizes included breakfasts, lunches or dinners at each of the cafés and restaurants that took part in this latest edition of the tapas competition.
