ARCHIVED - Jumilla switches off in support of Earth Hour
The Jumilla Castle lights will be extinguished for 60 minutes on Saturday March 25
Jumilla will once again join towns and cities across the globe in supporting Earth Hour 2023, a campaign organised by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) that invites citizens and governments around the world to show their concern for the issues ravaging our planet, such as global warming, deforestation and pollution.
Under the slogan ‘Turn off the light. Give the planet a spin’, Jumilla will darken the city’s iconic castle for 60 minutes on Saturday March 25, between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.
To show their commitment to nature and the fight against climate change, Jumilla council has invited businesses and private homes to switch off their lights for Earth Hour in solidarity with communities around the world.
According to WWF data, 308 town councils in Spain have joined the Earth Hour campaign, as well as 57 organisations and 109 companies.
