ARCHIVED - Landslide blocks RM-332 between Cartagena and Mazarron
This was the shortest route to Cartagena after the RM-E22 was recently damaged
The storms of recent days continue to wreak havoc in the Region of Murcia, and on Tuesday April 12 yet another landslide has blocked one lane of the RM-332 road that connects Cartagena and Mazarrón.
The timing is unfortunate given the number of people travelling on the Region’s roads during Holy Week, and this particular stretch has been vital for the last two weeks, since it’s the shortest route to reach Isla Plana and La Azohia after a part of the RM-E22 platform in the Cuestas del Cedacero collapsed two weeks ago.

The Ministry of Public Works reported at the time that it would take at least two months to repair the affected area of Cedacero and now, with the new damage to the RM-332, the only clear way of getting to Isla Plana and Mazarrón from Cartagena is along the AP-7, a toll road that leads to Almeria.
Several workers are currently trying to shift the debris from the road as they await the arrival of more heavy-duty machinery.
