ARCHIVED - Low cost petrol company to open five stations in the Region of Murcia
The new petrol stations will be dotted around Murcia, including in Mazarrón, Lorca and Jumilla
Independent petrol suppliers Ballenoil will be opening five petrol stations in the Region of Murcia in the upcoming months, with sales expected to reach 12 million litres in the first year.
Ballenoil predicts that petrol and diesel prices will fall by 10 cents per litre in areas where their stations are opened, saving consumers around 250 euros annually; welcome news for drivers in Spain as fuel prices are on the rise.
The first five stations are to be opened in Las Torres de Cotillas, Lorca, Jumilla, Mazarrón and Alcantarilla, but this is just the first stage in Ballenoil’s expansion plan, as the company plans to open even more stations in the Region. Across Spain, there are 160 Ballenoil stations in 11 different autonomous communities.
Customers will be able to choose between Diesel Excellent, Sin Plomo Excellent 95 and the company’s star product; Diesel Excellent PLUSs, and most of the Ballenoil petrol stations will also have an automated car wash, provided by the company Ballena Azul.
The modern petrol suppliers are planning to offer 24-hour service with automated systems, along with some human personnel, and a new partnership with Santander Bank will allow clients to pay for petrol by showing their DNI (or NIE).
According to a recent study of the sector, automated petrol stations in Spain are around 12 cents cheaper per litre on average compared to traditional stations.
