Mazarron Council continues with pest control treatment in Camposol
In summer, work intensifies with special focus on mosquitoes and cockroaches
As the hot weather starts to increase insect pest activity the Camposol Business Association contacted Mazarrón Councillor for Health, Carmen Navarro, who is also Councillor for Camposol, to enquire what action the Council were planning to aliviate the problem on the Camposol urbanisation.
The Councillor replied that “Mazarrón Council through the pest control company, Lokímica Laboritorios (part of the Rentokil group), has continued with the pest control work in the Camposol area. Actions will continue to prevent the proliferation of mosquitoes and cockroaches in the municipality. Specialist pest control technicians will carry out preventive treatments in the sewers and critical areas to keep these pest populations at bay”.
The Councillor continued “Action against cockroaches will be carried out in the sewer system. The methods used are environmentally friendly, ensuring effective and safe treatments”.
Pointing out that effective pest control included the public’s involvement in addition to treatment carried out by Lokímica the Councillor added “Regarding mosquitoes, we must highlight that in strategies carried out against the tiger mosquito, citizen collaboration is essential since any stagnation of water allows the tiger mosquito to breed. Simple actions such as eliminating stagnant water from pots, keeping swimming pools chlorinated or changing the water in animal drinking bowls regularly are small but essential tasks to prevent the proliferation of the tiger mosquito”.
In a recent public information address Lidia Nazar, Lokímica’s specialist technical biologist and responsible for pest control in Mazarrón, reiterated that pest control treatment is carried out throughout the year, but intensified in summer throughout the municipality, adding "Inside the home, very simple measures can be taken that help prevent the proliferation of these pests, which provides a better environment for everyone."
