More than a dozen yellow flags on Region of Murcia beaches this Friday
The majority of these swimmer warnings are on beaches in Cartagena and San Javier
The surveillance team of the ‘Plan Copla’ has erected yellow flags on 14 beaches in the Region of Murcia on Friday August 9.
A yellow flag on a Spanish beach indicates caution. It is typically flown when there are moderate waves and currents, and swimmers are advised to be vigilant and follow the instructions of lifeguards at all times.
Caution is requested when swimming on the beaches of Poniente II and Matalentisco in Águilas; Monteblanco, Galúa, Las Sirenas, Entremares, Levante de Cabo de Palos and Calblanque in Cartagena; Banco del Tabal, Pedrucho (north, centre and south) and Arenal south in San Javier; and Mojón in San Pedro del Pinatar.
Green flags are flying on the rest of the beaches in the Region of Murcia, indicating safe conditions for swimming.
The emergency services remind beach goers that it is important to follow the instructions of lifeguards, protect themselves from the sun, constantly monitor children and never swim alone or too far from the shore.
