ARCHIVED - Most expensive property in Spain, costing 29 million, located in Marbella, Andalucia
The Marbella villa in Andalusia leads the top ten list of the most costly properties in the country
Generally in Spain the most expensive homes are to found in the Costa del Sol and the Balearic Islands, but one property in Marbella has been revealed as the most expensive house in the entire country. Located in the exclusive Malaga urbanisation of La Zagaleta, this luxury villa would set you back a cool 29 million euros, but it offers plenty of bang for your buck. The villa itself measures more than 3,000 square metres and is set on a 5,900 metre estate, and features 5 bedrooms, an infinity pool, golf simulator and even a private bowling alley.
According to the real estate portal Idealista, 83 per cent of users admit to browsing luxury property ads, and may well have come across some of Spain’s priciest homes. Coming in at numbers two and three on the list are properties in Mallorca priced at 26.5 million and 24.95 million euros, but you do get a helipad thrown in with the more expensive home.
In fourth place, also in Mallorca, is a villa for 22 million euros, followed by a house in Benahavís in Málaga for 18.8 million, a villa in Marbella for 18.5 million and another property in Benahavís for 17.5 million euros.
Three homes in the Balearic Islands complete the top ten list of the most expensive homes in Spain: a mansion in Calvià for 16.8 million euros, a villa in Andratx for 16.8 million and a second villa in Calvià for 16.5 million euros.
For the more discerning buyer, the largest luxury home for sale in Spain is a castle in Castilla y Leon, on offer at 15 million euros, built on an impressive 79 hectare plot.
