ARCHIVED - Murcia driver pulls a gun on customer jumping the queue in filling station
The 20-year-old man became irate when another customer pushed ahead of him at a Murcia petrol station
The never-ending rise in fuel prices has put many people on edge, but one young man in Murcia City was apparently feeling the pressure more than most when he pulled a gun on a motorist he believed was trying to sneak ahead of him in the queue for the pumps.
The incident occurred at a filling station on Alicante avenue back in April, but the authorities have only managed to track the 20-year-old gunman down this week.
According to official reports, the young man was waiting in line to fill up his tank when another customer jumped the queue. Incensed, the suspect pulled a gun and threatened the other motorist.
Realising that other people at the filling station had called the police, the man fled, without firing a shot. It is still not clear whether his firearm was real or simply an imitation gun.
Using the filling station’s security camera, the Guardia Civil in Murcia identified the number plate of the suspect’s car and he has been arrested.
