ARCHIVED - Murcia hotels exceed pre-pandemic Easter numbers
Tourist accommodation is expected to be 6% higher in Murcia than in 2019
The relaxation of coronavirus travel restrictions has led to a resurgence of holiday bookings across Spain this Easter, and the Region of Murcia is certainly following this trend, with hotel and apartment reservations for Holy Week and the Spring Festivals in the Murcia municipality already up 6% on pre-pandemic 2019.
For Easter, the various tourist accommodations in Murcia expect to reach an 82% occupancy, while the Spring Festival should fill 5.23% more rooms than the same period three years ago.
This optimistic trend is already well underway, as last weekend the hotels in the municipality registered 63.14%.

The Councillor for Culture, Tourism and Sports, Pedro García Rex, is not surprised with data since Murcia has a plethora of leisure and cultural activities to offer, but he has attributed much of the influx to the campaign launched to promote the municipality in neighbouring communities.
Now begins one of the biggest weeks on the Murcian calendar, where tourists and locals alike will be treated to a spectacle of parades and processions.
The municipality currently has 31 establishments that offer more than 5,000 hotel beds.
