The last patient moved to a covid ward today following 50 days in intensive care
The Hospital-General in Alicante City announced on Wednesday June 16 that the last Covid patient in its ICU had left the Intensive Care Unit and moved down onto the Covid general ward.
The last patient had been in intensive care for 50 days.
This is another indicator of the improving situation in the region, which has the lowest Covid incidence in all of Spain.
There are currently 105 people admitted to hospitals in total across the region: 14 in the province of Castellón, with 2 patients in ICU; 26 in the province of Alicante, 6 of them in the ICU; and 65 in the province of Valencia, 15 of them in ICU.
Since the last update yesterday, 221 patients have been given the all-clear, bringing the total number of recoveries in the region to date to 399,152.
1.3 million people in the region are now fully vaccinated against covid.
