Ouigo Spain launches 20 per cent discount on train travel for over-30s
The lower fares will apply to all rail routes throughout Spain until September
Budget train company Ouigo, which has recently expanded its routes and cut-price tickets in direct competition with the rival state-run Renfe, has launched a new campaign offering 20% off rail travel for customers over the age of 30 this summer.
The discounted round-trip tickets will need to be purchased between June 19 and 30 using the code ‘VIEJOVEN’ at checkout and will be valid for travel across all its Spanish connections from July 31 until September 2.
This latest offering is designed to complement the Ministry of Transport’s ‘Young Summer’ programme, which earlier this month saw both Iryo and Renfe offer 50% off the ticket price for all travellers under 30 years.
Travel on Ouigo trains already starts at just 9 euros each way so the latest discount will make train journeys more affordable than ever. The high-speed low-cost rail company offers schedules between Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Tarragona, Valencia, Alicante and Albacete.
Tickets can be purchased on the Ouigo official website or the company’s mobile app.
