ARCHIVED - Paedophile pop star Gary Glitter plans to flee to Spain following early release from prison
The disgraced 78-year-old intends to live in Spain with his son because “Britain is dangerous”

Convicted paedophile Gary Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, has reportedly told his son that he will soon be leaving the UK to come live with him in Spain in order to “keep a low profile”.
The disgraced rocker was jailed back in 2015 for sexually assaulting three school girls and served eight years in prison before he was released early this month. The 78-year-old is currently holed up in a bail hostel in the south of England but he will soon be free to move further afield and it seems his sights are set on Spain.
According to a source, Glitter and his 21-year-old love child Gary Pantoja Sosa are in “regular contact” and the former pop idol “wants to move as soon as he can” to Spain as he feels that “Britain is dangerous”.
“He’s in touch with him and he could go there,” the source added. “He’s told him that’s the plan.”
Glitter, who was one of the UK’s most recognised pop stars in the 70s, has only served half of his 16-year sentence and police have already been called to the Hampshire hostel where he is staying to calm furious protesters.
He fled to Cuba in 1999 after serving four months in the UK for storing 4,000 child abuse images in his laptop. Here, in 2001, he fathered his son with Yudenia Sosa Martínez before being kicked out a year later when rumours of more sex crimes emerged.
At the time of his arrest for a series of sex crimes British police described him as a “habitual sexual predator who took advantage of the star status afforded to him.”
Today, he is classed by the authorities as a ‘level 3’ offender – someone who is still considered “dangerous” and “capable of causing serious harm”.
