Pay in instalments for your next flight in Spain
Iberia is the first airline in Spain to implement this payment option
Inflation has hit airlines hard and the price of plane tickets has skyrocketed over the past year or so, making it difficult for many families to afford a holiday.
But vacations in Spain are about to get a whole lot more affordable thanks to Iberia, which has launched a new financing system that allows passengers to pay for their flights in instalments.
Under the new system, travellers who purchase their flights through Iberia.com will be offered finance up to the value of 10,000 euros. Passengers will then be able to divide the total cost of the flights into smaller, more manageable instalments over three, six, nine or 12 months.
According to a press release from the carrier, Iberia is the first Spanish airline to introduce such as payment scheme.
The payment service will be provided in conjunction with several financial institutions and is currently operated through investee Iberia Cards in conjunction with seQura and Aplazame. However, Iberia plans to bring more providers on board in order to expand the financing offer.
For the moment, this option is only available in Spain but the company hopes to extend it to other countries such as Italy, France, Germany and Belgium in the very near future.
Last month, Iberia was ranked as the most punctual airline in the world, with an impressive 87.28% of its 13,939 flights arriving on time in April.
