ARCHIVED - Police officers in Murcia collect supplies for La Palma volcano victims
Some of the emergency supplies which can be donated in Murcia include clothes, non-perishable food and baby wipes
Officers from the Policía Nacional and the Guardia Civil based in Murcia have banded together in a show of solidarity by organising a collection to send emergency supplies to those affected by the Cumbre Vieja volcano in La Palma, which has been erupting since September 19.
The officers are part of the Jupol and Jucil associations and a spokesperson has said that they have managed to secure two trucks which will transport all of the donated items to La Palma, stating that “when help is needed, even a little helps a lot”.
Some of the items desperately needed on the island are clothes, non-perishable food, school material, face masks, shoes and towels, and for babies and young children: milk, baby wipes and nappies.
To make a donation, visit the police station in Sangomera in Murcia and drop off any supplies.
