ARCHIVED - Queen Elizabeth seriously ill: Royal Family gathers urgently at Balmoral
There is concern around the world as the Queen’s health is seen to have deteriorated significantly in the last 48 hours
The Queen seemed in reasonable health this week at her meeting with new Prime Minister Liz Truss
The Queen is currently under medical supervision at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.
Her doctors are said to be concerned for her health, and tributes from wellwishers have come flooding in from around the world praying for a speedy recovery and the welfare of Her Majesty and her family.
The palace has added the 96-year-old monarch “remains comfortable” at Balmoral Castle, but the BBCs Riyal correspondent Nicholas Witchell has stated that “the fact that Buckingham Palace felt it necessary to issue a statement, and the fact that family members are travelling there, says everything”.
Prince Charles, Camilla and Princess Anne are at Balmoral and Prince William is travelling there now, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also making their way to Scotland, as are Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.
New Prime Minister Liz Truss has said that “the whole country will be deeply concerned by the news”.
