ARCHIVED - Ryanair launches new Ireland to Barcelona route
The Shannon to Girona, Spain flights will operate between March and October
Budget airline Ryanair has announced that it will begin operating flights between Shannon Airport in the South of Ireland and Barcelona’s Girona on March 29 of this year. The trip takes just under three hours and flights will run on Tuesdays and Saturdays until the end of October.
Shannon Group’s CEO Mary Considine said that the airport had been working closely with their airline partners to create new and exciting holiday opportunities since travel restrictions have been relaxed between Ireland and Spain.
Ryanair also offers twice weekly flights between Shannon and Barcelona Reus from April to the end of October.
“We are pleased to add this new route to Girona as part of our summer ’22 schedule from Shannon,” said Ryanair’s director of commercial Jason McGuinness.
“Girona is the perfect destination for anyone seeking an authentic Spanish city escape, with its winding cobbled streets, medieval architecture and tasty Spanish cuisine,” he added.
