Scattered showers and climbing temperatures: Murcia weather forecast January 2-5
The weekend weather in the Region of Murcia will be much more settled with a chance of light rain
Average temperature expected on Saturday
The Region of Murcia, along with large parts of southern Spain, was under the effects of another DANA on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day and while the festivities went ahead, they did so under a sea of umbrellas.
In some towns in the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia, more than 50 litres per square metre of rain fell but thankfully, only a few minor, isolated incidents were reported.
The weather will settle down considerably over the next couple of days and while there’s still a chance of rain, particularly in northern towns, this will be light and scattered at worst. Daytime temperatures should also start to rise.
Thursday January 2
All of the weather alerts have been lifted and Thursday will be mostly clear or a little cloudy in Murcia. There is the possibility of occasional rain along the coast in the early morning, but the rest of day should be dry.
Night-time temperatures will fall to as low as zero inland, bringing a chance of light frost, while daytime temperatures will start to rise.
Friday January 3
Friday will be partly cloudy but there should be plenty of bright and sunny spells during the afternoon. Temperatures could inch up by a degree or two but northern Murcia can still expect overnight frosts.
Saturday January 4
Saturday’s forecast is very similar to Friday, with partly cloudy skies and light, isolated frosts in the north. Daytime temperatures will continue to climb.
Sunday January 5
Throughout southern Spain, the weather will take a bit of a turn on Sunday. In the Region of Murcia, the day will dawn rather cloudy and this will increase as the hours go by, leading to very overcast skies by the afternoon.
There’s also a good chance of light showers in the north and west of the Region on Sunday evening.
Temperatures will start to fall, with isolated light frosts inland. Light to moderate winds from the west, occasionally strong on the coast at the end of the day.

- Thursday January 2: Min 0ºC; Max 18ºC
- Friday January 3: Min -1ºC; Max 18ºC
- Saturday January 4: Min -1ºC; Max 19ºC
- Sunday January 5: Min 0ºC; Max 19ºC
