ARCHIVED - Scorcher forecast for All Saints long weekend: Spain weather October 28-30
Sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to high-20s forecast for most of Spain this weekend
As Spain heads into a long weekend to mark All Saints Day on November 1, the last weekend of October will continue the trend of the rest of the month, with summery temperatures and bright, sunny skies prevailing, with the exception of Galicia.
“This week’s temperatures will be typical of the beginning or end of summer in almost the entire Peninsula and the Balearic Islands and midsummer in the Bay of Biscay,” confirmed Aemet’s Rubén del Campo.
Hoteliers are anticipating a bumper Todos los Santos bank holiday to finish off the season, with the mercury unlikely to drop below 25ºC on the Mediterranean coast during the entire weekend and virtually no threat of rain.
The middle of the week saw the thermometers climbing once again and by Friday October 28, temperatures are expected to be between 5 and 10ºC higher than usual for this time of year. Although a storm will continue to batter the northern coast, placing Asturias, Cantabria, Galicia and Castilla y León on alert for strong gusts, the south, and particularly the Mediterranean, will bask in sunshine.

Most areas will enjoy daytime temperatures in the high 20s, although Cordoba will top out at an impressive 31ºC. There’s still no need for a duvet either as the tropical nights look set to continue, with values exceeding 20ºC in many parts.
Saturday October 29 will continue to be unseasonably hot, thermometers easily reaching 30ºC in the Guadalquivir valley, Granada, Bilbao and some of the Canary Islands. It will be a little more comfortable in Murcia and Alicante, with highs of 26ºC expected.
The heavy rain will persist in Galicia while yellow wind warnings are in place for Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla y León and Navarra.
Meanwhile, the haze that has been deteriorating the air quality in recent days should begin to dissipate.
On Sunday October 30 the rains will extend to points in the west of Spain: Asturias, parts of Cantabria, western Castilla y León, Extremadura and possibly western Andalusia.
It could be a little cloudy to begin with although plenty of sunny spells are forecast along the Mediterranean coast and very little change is expected temperature-wise.
