Scrapping Brits force emergency landing in Tenerife
The drunken brawl happened on a flight from Luton to the Spanish island

It’s barely May and the summer season is still a long way off but the drunken antics of holidaymakers are already escalating, with plenty not waiting to get off the plane before causing a fuss.
The latest episode occurred on easyJet flight U22303 that departed London Luton at 1.55pm on Thursday May 4, destined for Tenerife South Airport. Shortly before the flight was due to land, a drunken brawl broke out in the cabin between three passengers, and the pilot was forced to radio the air traffic control tower and request a priority landing.
He also asked for local police to meet the Airbus A320 on the runway.

When the plane touched down shortly after 6.30pm, officers from the National Police were waiting on the tarmac. While all of the other passengers remained in their seats, the agents boarded the plane and escorted the three troublemakers to the airport for questioning.
These days, rather than hauling drunken tourists before the Spanish courts and issuing them with fines, most misbehaving holidaymakers have their trip cut short and this trio was shipped back to the UK on the next available flight.
“Flight from Luton, arriving in Tenerife Sur, requests police presence upon arrival due to 3 conflicting passengers on board,” Spanish air traffic controllers wrote on Twitter.
They confirmed that the flight was given priority access to the runway so that the pilot could land as quickly and safely as possible.
Just last week, another easyJet flight travelling from Liverpool to Tenerife airport was forced to make a hasty landing in Spain when a massive brawl, assumed to have been drink-fuelled, broke out between 12 passengers on board.
The group was also not allowed to leave the airport and all were flown back to the UK that same day.
