ARCHIVED - Seville teams up with Barcelona to attract high-spending French tourists
Seville and Barcelona are working to attract tourists from the luxury travel sector.
As areas across Spain push to encourage tourists to come back following a drop in visitor numbers the pandemic, Sevilla city council has announced it will be working with Barcelona to promote the two cities to French tourists.
According to the Sevilla Councillor for Urban Habitat, Culture and Tourism, the two cities are teaming up to attract travellers from the luxury sector in France after 37 per cent of French planning a trip this summer said they are intending to holiday in Europe this year.
The cities will be promoting themselves in Paris focusing on their shared attractions of architecture, cuisine, fashion, literature and sustainability in an effort to encourage French tourists back to Spain as well to attract new travellers from the luxury sector.
Sevilla has also recently reopened a train route from Malaga in a bid to improve transport for locals and tourists.
