Six French tourists arrested in Mallorca for raping British teen
The assailants recorded the horror attack on their phones at the Magaluf hotel
Police in the Mallorca resort of Magaluf have arrested six French tourists accused of gang raping an 18-year-old British holidaymaker at their hotel.
According to Guardia Civil reports, the girl met her attackers at a party on Monday August 14 and accompanied them back to their hotel at around 5am. Once they returned to one of the suspect’s rooms, the six men reportedly raped her and filmed the attack on their mobile phones.
Somehow the terrified woman managed to break free from her assailants and ran screaming into the street. Security officers from the hotel assisted the distressed victim and called the Guardia Civil, who were eventually able to identify the perpetrators based on the description provided by the Englishwoman.
They also checked CCTV footage from the hotel’s surveillance cameras and verified their movements from earlier that night.
The six men were arrested a short time later and appeared in front of a judge in La Palma at 11am on Tuesday August 15. Officers confirmed that the victim had been examined by a doctor, who found clear grip marks on her arms.
It comes after a 17-year-old British boy was allegedly sexually assaulted by a taxi driver on the notorious party strip of Punta Ballena in Magaluf on August 11. According to the victim, he hailed a cab after a night out to take him back to his hotel, and on the way the driver touched his private parts and demanded he perform sex acts on him.
The young UK man resisted and a struggle ensued, during which he banged his head on the car door. The victim, accompanied by his mother, reported the attack to police, who are currently trying to track down the suspect.
