Strong gusts are forecast to reach up to 70kmh this Thursday and on Friday morning
Murcia weather warnings, Thursday November 21
Storm Caetano, which has already placed several provinces across Spain on alert, is set to impact the Region of Murcia on Thursday November 21 with strong winds prompting a yellow weather warning.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued the alert for wind gusts of up to 70kmh, affecting the Altiplano and Northwest areas, including towns such as Yecla, Jumilla, Bullas, Moratalla and Caravaca de la Cruz.
The warning is in effect for a full 24 hours, from 6am on Thursday until 6am on Friday 22. The westerly winds are forecast to sweep through the Region, potentially causing hazardous conditions in some exposed locations.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to take extra precautions, particularly in mountainous areas and when travelling. Authorities recommend securing any loose objects at home that could be displaced by the high winds.
Given the potential for rapidly changing conditions, the public is encouraged to stay updated via Aemet’s official channels for the latest information on the weather warning.
The storm has already created disruptions across other parts of Spain, with similar warnings in place for numerous regions, including Valencia, Catalonia and much of Castilla y León, as well as the coastline of Granada and Almería.
