Storms return mid-week: Spain weather forecast June 9-12
Temperatures will also take a nose-dive in most of Spain over the next couple of days

Weather outlook on Wednesday afternoon, June 11
After a sunny and scorching weekend across much of Spain, the weather is about to take a turn. A new system arriving from the northwest will shake things up from Tuesday, bringing a return of storms, showers and cooler air to many parts of the country.
Monday June 9

The week will start off exceptionally warm, especially inland and in southern communities like Andalucía, where the thermometers could still reach 40ºC in places.
But while some areas sizzle, others are bracing for storms. Heavy rain and thunder are forecast in the Valencian Community, and Aragon is under an orange alert for possible flooding.
Tuesday June 10

The real changes will begin on Tuesday when cooler air brings clouds and showers. Storms will push north from Andalucía, eventually affecting most of the country as the hours go by. The orange alerts remain in place in Aragon and the significant storm warnings have been extended to Catalonia.
Despite this, daytime temperatures might still reach the high 30s in some valleys of the south, but cooler weather is on its way.
Wednesday June 11

Stormy weather will take hold across much of the country on Wednesday. A low-pressure system will spread rain and thunderstorms through the north, centre and south of Spain, with a chance of hail. The eastern coast should stay drier, but it will become very overcast as the day goes on.
Temperatures will begin to drop across the board but on the plus side, Wednesday night should feel far less humid than previous days.
Thursday June 12

Those cooler conditions will really start to settle in on Thursday, with daytime temperatures falling by between 5 and 8 degrees in many areas compared to Monday. Humid air from the north will keep skies cloudy in some places, especially along the Cantabrian coast.
Monday evening and night will feel fresher, although cities like Valencia, Barcelona and Cádiz may still experience a tropical night.
