Temperatures in the province of Alicante reached a sweltering 35ºC over the weekend in what has been a most unusual start to the month of October.
According to the network of stations of the Valencian Association of Meteorology (Avamet), the highest temperature in the province was recorded in Beniarrés, at a scorching 34.8ºC, while 35ºC was exceeded in localities such as Pedreguer, Ondara and Orihuela.
The good news is that the extended summer looks set to continue at least until the weekend and there’s hardly a drop of rain in sight.
