Swedish drug trafficker apprehended in Alicante
The fugitive, who was arrested in Torrevieja, already had an extensive rap sheet in Spain
The Alicante National Police has arrested a notorious fugitive wanted by the Swedish authorities for drug trafficking and money laundering. The 35-year-old criminal fled to Torrevieja after being sentenced to six years behind bars in his home country, where a European Arrest and Extradition Order was issued.
After receiving intelligence from the International Fugitives Group of the Central Organised Crime Brigade, Spanish officers swiftly mobilised to locate the individual in question and he was quickly tracked to the Alicante coastal city.
Ultimately cornered on a bustling city street, the offender put up no resistance during his dramatic capture. It later transpired that this wasn’t the man’s first brush with the law, and his extensive rap sheep included previous arrests for drug trafficking in Spain.
