Temperatures on the rise with highs of 41 degrees: Alicante weather forecast July 6-9
Alicante province is in for a scorcher this week, with temperatures expected to peak on Wednesday and Thursday

July has so far brought plenty of sunshine and the kind of temperatures most people would expect at this time of year across Alicante Province.
However, things are set to get a little hotter over the coming days, particularly inland where temperatures are forecast to climb to around 40°C and beyond in some areas. While coastal towns will avoid the highest temperatures, the combination of heat and humidity is likely to make it feel uncomfortable at times.
With temperatures on the rise across the Province, here's a day-by-day look at what you can expect from July 6 to July 9.
Monday July 6
The week gets off to a hot start across Alicante province, with clear skies and sunshine expected throughout the day.
Temperatures will begin to climb, reaching 37°C in Orihuela, while Alcoy and Elche are both forecast to hit 36°C. Along the coast, Dénia is expected to reach 35°C, while Alicante city should see a slightly cooler high of around 34°C.
Winds will remain light and variable before turning southerly and south-easterly during the afternoon.
Tuesday July 7
Things start to heat up further on Tuesday, particularly inland, where temperatures edge closer to the 40°C mark.
Skies will remain mostly clear, although some cloud is expected to move in during the second half of the day.
Orihuela is forecast to reach 40°C, making it one of the hottest spots in the Province. Alcoy and Elche are both expected to see highs of around 38°C, while Dénia reaches 37°C. Along the coast, Alicante city is forecast to peak at around 35°C.
Wednesday July 8
Wednesday will be one of the hottest days of the week across Alicante Province.
Sunshine will dominate once again, with only a few clouds expected. Inland areas are likely to bear the brunt of the heat, with temperatures widely expected to reach or exceed 40°C.
Temperatures in Elche could climb to around 39°C or 40°C and Orihuela may reach 41°C.
Along the coast, conditions will remain slightly cooler, although temperatures are still expected to reach the mid to high 30s.
Thursday July 9
Thursday looks set to bring another day of intense summer heat, with little change expected across much of the province.
Orihuela is forecast to reach 41°C, while Elche could see highs of 40°C. Further north, Alcoy and Dénia are both expected to reach around 38°C. Alicante city is forecast to see temperatures of around 36°C, although higher humidity levels are likely to make it feel warmer.
By the middle of the week, inland parts of Alicante province are expected to be feeling the heat, with temperatures climbing into the 40s, while coastal areas remain a little cooler thanks to the Mediterranean.
That said, even where temperatures remain a few degrees lower, humidity levels are likely to make conditions feel warmer, particularly during the evenings and overnight. Whether you're heading to the beach, spending time outdoors or trying to stay cool at home, it looks like Alicante is in for a very hot few days ahead.
