The Costa Blanca bikers raising funds for Alzheimers charity
The Torrevieja Alzheimer’s Association recently received a generous donation from an unlikely source
Bikers may not be the first people you think of when talking about fundraising for worthy causes, but the Costa Blanca Rawhiders in Alicante province frequently contribute to charities across the southeast of Spain.
In the past they have focused on underprivileged children and homeless people. Now, in their latest charitable effort, the members of the Rawhiders visited the Torrevieja Alzheimer’s Association.
“On Monday last, we visited our dear friends at the Torrevieja Alzheimer’s Association, where we presented much-needed funds in respect of new staff uniforms for 2024,” said group member Ed Purcell.
“We were also privileged to meet the President, and be given a guided tour of the premises, meeting some patients and staff, and to see the wonderful work that was being performed there.”
All in all, says Ed, it was a humbling experience to witness the care, dedication and hard work of the amazing people who work there, and the Costa Blanca Rawhiders will continue to donate to local charities in future.
If you like bikes and fancy being part of an active social club on the Costa Blanca and Costa Cálida, you can go along to one of the Rawhiders’ Open Days, which are held on the second Sunday of every month at their clubhouse in Callosa de Segura.
