The good weather returns to the Region of Murcia this week, though of course ‘good’ is a relative term. While March’s storms and heavy rainfall caused disruption and at least one death in the Region, it has mostly been a blessing for crops, gardens and aquifers.

All the same, if the weather forecast from Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is anything to go by, it looks like most of the rain and storms big enough to have their own names are over and done with for now, minus a brief blip on Tuesday afternoon.

This Monday, March 24, Aemet forecasts quite cloudy skies, increasing in the afternoon, when they could be accompanied by “occasional showers,” while “thunderstorms are not ruled out in Campo de Cartagena”.

Minimum temperatures are unchanged and maximum temperatures will rise a little, and there are “light to moderate westerly winds, occasionally strong on the coast and high areas during the afternoon”.

For Tuesday 25, the morning should be quite bright overall, with daytime temperatures continuing to rise on the day before, but come the afternoon we can expect thunderstorms and some gentle rainfall across almost the entire Region, though it should be short-lived and will die out by the evening.

As the week goes on, temperatures are expected to keep climbing up by a degree or two over Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27, and, while there could be “fairly cloudy skies” and “morning mist,” it is forecast to remain dry for the rest of the week and going into the weekend.
