There was an earthquake last night just 8 miles from Condado
Did you feel the tremors around Alhama de Murcia last night?
Last night, Monday January 29, at around 10.32pm, there was an earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale just about 13 kilometres (8 miles) from the Condado de Alhama golf resort.
Specifically, the quake had its epicentre in the area of Lentiscosa, between the towns of Totana and Alhama de Murcia, near the Parque Regional de Sierra Espuña, at a depth of around 1 kilometre, according to the National Geographic Institute (IGN).
Also, this Tuesday January 30, the municipality of Pliego further north registered an earthquake of magnitude 3.1. That was just after midday, at around 12.18pm, when workers from the Emergency services received phones calls to the number 112 from the northern Murcia municipality of Mula reporting that they felt a seismic movement.
In neither of these earthquakes were there any reports of personal injury or material damage.
These quakes comes just a day after a magnitude 3.4 earthquake in Gran Canaria, and hot on the heels of a series of small quakes around Murcia, Almería and Alicante last week.
