ARCHIVED - Torre Pacheco thief caught after night-time stealing spree from cars
A dozen Torre Pacheco vehicles were broken into over the course of just one night
Guardia Civil officers in Torre Pacheco have arrested a young but experienced delinquent for allegedly breaking into a series of parked vehicles in the municipality.
The police were tipped off by a neighbour who reported the presence of a young Moroccan man breaking a car window. The following morning, the 21-year-old was caught red-handed with several items stolen from 12 different cars, as well as a glass-breaking tool used to gain access to the cars.
In total, a dozen break-ins took place on the same night in the Roldán and Balsicas areas of Torre Pacheco and personal items such as keys, watches and clothes were recovered from the criminal.
The thief, who has a previous criminal record, will be charged with 12 forceful break-ins, but the authorities believe that he could be responsible for thefts from up to 30 cars in the municipality.
