Until October 31 Via Crucis exhibition by Eva Mauricio in Aguilas
A feminist portrayal of the Stations of the Cross at the seafront auditorium of Águilas
Artist Eva Mauricio presents her version of the Christian Cia Crucis, the walk of Christ to the hill of Calvary, comparing it to the suffering she believes has been endured by women throughout history.
The exhibition traces women’s progress through 12 “stations of the cross” comparable to those of Jesus prior to his crucifixion and resurrection and has been compiled over 15 years of creativity. The scenes represent stages such as the “glass ceiling” and the housekeeping multi-tasking which have traditionally been required of women, and each image is accompanied by a short text.
The exhibition at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena in Águilas can be visited every day of the week except Mondays between 18.00 and 21.00.
