ARCHIVED - Vaccination of teaching staff begins across Andalusia
Vaccination began simulataneously in several provinces on Tuesday (February 23)
In line with the strategy of the Spanish Government to vaccinate under 55s with the AstraZeneca vaccines currently being supplied to Spain, mass vacciation of teaching staff began in several provinces of Andalusia on Tuesday (February 23).
There is some concern amongst members of the teaching profession aged 55 plus about when they will be vaccinated and whether the same vaccine will be administered to teaching staff over the age of 55, as currently only those aged 18-55 are being given the AstraZeneca vaccine due to lack of research data relating to those in older age groups.
Currently the lack of vaccines available is slowing down the vaccination programme amongst older and at risk groups, Spain having vaccinated only 3 million people since the campaign began on December 26th.
