Warm weather returns before midweek showers: Alicante weather forecast September 14-17
Temperatures will climb into the 30s again before midweek showers bring cooler weather to parts of Alicante Province

After the storms and cooler temperatures last week, Alicante Province is set to warm up again over the next few days. Temperatures will climb steadily on Monday and Tuesday, with highs of 34°C expected in Orihuela, before falling again from Wednesday. Let's take a look at the daily breakdown:
Monday September 14
Monday will be mostly clear across Alicante Province, with temperatures starting to rise. Alcoy, Alicante city and Dénia will reach 30°C, while Elche will reach 31°C and Orihuela 32°C. Minimum temperatures will range from 16°C in Alcoy to 20°C in Alicante city. Dénia will have a low of 19°C, while Elche and Orihuela will reach 18°C.
Winds will be light and variable before becoming easterly around midday.
Tuesday September 15
Tuesday will be another mostly clear day, but temperatures will climb again. Alcoy will reach 33°C, while Alicante city will reach 31°C and Dénia and Elche 32°C. Orihuela will be the hottest of the five areas at 34°C. Minimum temperatures will range from 16°C in Alcoy to 20°C in Alicante city. Dénia will drop to 19°C overnight, while Elche and Orihuela will reach 17°C and 18°C respectively.
Winds will be light and variable during the morning before becoming southerly around midday, with some moderate winds possible in the afternoon.
Wednesday September 16
Temperatures will come down slightly on Wednesday, although it will still be warm across the province. Alcoy will reach 31°C, Alicante city 31°C, Dénia 30°C, Elche 31°C and Orihuela 33°C. The skies will be mostly clear, although some cloud could build inland during the afternoon. There is also a chance of showers and thunderstorms later in the day. Minimum temperatures will change little, ranging from 18°C in Alcoy and Elche to 20°C in Alicante city and Dénia. Orihuela will have a minimum of 19°C.
Winds will be light and variable before becoming easterly and southerly around midday, with some moderate winds possible during the afternoon.
Thursday September 17
Thursday will bring a more noticeable drop in temperatures, particularly in the north of the province. Alcoy will reach 26°C, while Dénia will reach 27°C and Alicante city 29°C. Elche and Orihuela will remain warmer at around 30°C. Some cloud will develop inland during the afternoon, with showers and the occasional thunderstorm possible. Minimum temperatures will range from 17°C in Alcoy to 22°C in Alicante city. Dénia will have a low of 20°C, while Elche and Orihuela will reach 20°C and 21°C respectively.

So, it looks like summer is not quite ready to give up just yet. For anyone hoping for slightly more manageable temperatures, Thursday should see a nice change.
