WATCH: British royalty spotted on budget flight to Spain
Mike Tindall was snapped aboard an easyJet flight to Ibiza this week
Passengers jetting off to Ibiza at the weekend were left stunned when they were joined on an easyJet flight from the UK by no other than Mike Tindall, a former rugby player and husband of Zara Phillips, granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II.
Michael James Tindall, 44 years old, captained the XV de la Rosa and played as an outside centre for Bath and Gloucester at the height of his rugby career. He has three children with his wife Zara, who is the only daughter of Princess Anne and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips.
One shocked passenger aboard the flight filmed Mr Tindall, who was dressed casually in a t-shirt and baseball cap, placing his hand luggage in the overhead compartment under the title: “Coronation done, Ibiza time.”

The footage has since racked up many comments on social media, most of which express surprise that such a high-profile British figure would fly economy on a budget airline.
“He has the most powerful family in the world, why isn’t he on his own plane?” one TikTok user asked, while another praised him for getting a “standard flight,” pointing out that private planes “are bad for the planet.”
While holidaying in Ibiza, Mr Tindall recorded an episode of his podcast ‘The Good, The Bad & The Rugby’ with Alex Payne and James Haskell. It wasn’t all work though, and the trio have posted several photos of themselves basking in the sun at a rooftop bar at the ME hotel in Santa Eulària.
The British press has been quick to point out that the royals are well known for booking budget holidays: Prince William, Kate and their three children flew to Balmoral in 2019 with FlyBe, paying around 80 euros a head. This was shortly after Harry and Meghan chartered a private jet four times in 11 days.
