WATCH: Brother of Gary Lineker savagely attacked in Spain
Wayne Lineker was left unconscious outside a nightclub in Ibiza
In an incident that has shocked football fans, football superstar Gary Lineker’s brother, Wayne Lineker, was brutally assaulted last Wednesday during a night out in Ibiza.
A stomach-churning video circulating on social media captures the moment a young man strikes Lineker in the head, rendering him unconscious.
The British press reports that Lineker lay motionless on the ground for six minutes, prompting a witness to describe the scene as “horrible... he looked like he was dead.” The severity of the attack left onlookers fearing the worst.

Miraculously, Lineker regained consciousness and eventually left the scene before the police arrived. In the aftermath of the incident, he took to social media to reassure his fans and provide an update on his condition.
“I wanted to write this post to let everyone know that I'm okay,” Lineker shared.
“I have a few stitches and a swollen lip. Obviously, the video is very upsetting to watch, especially for my family.”
He continued, expressing gratitude for his fortunate position: “It could have been much worse. I consider myself very lucky not to have been 2 meters further back, as my head would have hit the wall.”
Amidst speculation about the motives behind the attack, Lineker himself confirmed that he had intervened to “protect a girl from harassment.”
