Woman found dead on Playa de Velilla beach in Granada
An autopsy confirmed that there were no signs of violence and the woman has drowned, according to the Guardia Civil

The body of a woman has been discovered on the Playa de Velilla beach in Almuñécar, Granada, during the early hours of Sunday June 8. Official sources from the Guardia Civil confirmed that the autopsy showed no signs of violence and that the woman had died from drowning.
The body was found at 2.12am when a member of the public called the emergency services to report a person lying face down at the shoreline. The Andalucía emergency coordination service (112) alerted the health emergency service (061), the Guardia Civil and the local police, who responded to the scene.
Local police later confirmed the deceased was a woman. The Guardia Civil has since activated the judicial protocol to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
