700,000 euros for improvements to Fuente Álamo health centre
The Town Mayor met with the President of the Community of Murcia to address issues of interest to the municipality
The President of the Community of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, has met with the Mayor of Fuente Álamo de Murcia, Juana María Martínez, to analyse initiatives for the improvement of the municipality.
The pair spoke about the renovation of the Javier Gómez Noya pavilion and the expansion work required for the Ricardo Ortega Institute. The expansion will include the construction of a new area of more than 1,300 square metres of surface area.
Further work discussed by the pair revolved around the improvement works at the Fuente Álamo health centre. The Region of Murcia government is going to invest almost 700,000 euros through the Department of Health in the town's health centre, which will allow for various improvements.
The Department is currently drafting the architectural project for the work, which includes aspects such as the renovation of the air conditioning system, the installation of new plumbing to save water and improvements in the production and distribution of hot water.
In terms of education, the Community has committed an investment of more than 3.3 million euros for the renovation of the Ricardo Ortega Secondary Education Institute. Such improvements will include comprehensive improvement of the thermal insulation and energy efficiency of the facilities.
Road infrastructure will also be improved upon in the municipality, with work totaling more than 2.8 million euros in investment. The improvement of a six-kilometre section of the Las Palas road, a eight-kilometre section of the El Escobar road and the repair of the surface of the Los Almagros road, are all to be undertaken soon by the Government.
Furthermore, the City Council is going to allocate the almost half a million euros it receives from the Community through the 2024/25 Works and Services Plan to the expansion and renovation of the Javier Gómez Noya Municipal Pavilion.
Finally, the Community has also allocated 200,000 euros for the repair of the asphalt of the Fuente Álamo Speed Circuit.
