August 2 Active Circus takes to the streets of Mojácar
International performer Iván Alonso González will bring a mix of comedy and acrobatics to Plaza Nueva
Families looking for something a little different this weekend can head to Mojácar Pueblo, where the Active Circus performance will take over Plaza Nueva on Sunday August 2.
The free outdoor show begins at 10pm and promises an entertaining mix of comedy, circus skills and physical theatre suitable for audiences of all ages.
The performance is led by Iván Alonso González, a Madrid-born artist whose career has taken him to street theatre festivals in more than 15 countries. Although he originally graduated in geology, his path changed after discovering the world of circus, leading him to train in Spain, Brazil and France.
Specialising in clowning, tightrope walking and Chinese pole, Iván has spent more than 16 years performing his own solo productions. He is also a founding member of the renowned Circ Bover company and has worked with a number of well-known circus and theatre groups throughout his career.
Alongside his performances, he is actively involved in social circus projects, using circus arts as a way of bringing communities together and encouraging creativity.
