Brit tourist in danger of losing an eye after Mallorca bouncer attack
Magaluf Madness continues with yet another late-night incident involving tourists
Drama unfolded in Mallorca's famed party hub, Magaluf, as a bouncer faces accusations of brutally injuring two unsuspecting British tourists earlier this week.
Both victims needed several stitches after suffering severe blows to the head and face, and doctors fear one of the men my lose his vision. There’s also a chance of internal injuries given the intensity of the attack.
Various eyewitnesses, along with two of the bouncer’s colleagues, gave statements to the Guardia Civil who arrived on the scene and the alleged attacker was promptly arrested. The nightclub where the assault occurred hasn’t been named.
Police are now closely examining CCTV footage in the area to determine exactly what happened, so the authorities have yet to make an official statement.
Shockingly, this incident marks the latest in a series of similar instances of the so-called ‘Magaluf Madness’. Last July, another pair of bouncers faced charges of attempted murder after savagely battering customers, including a woman whom they had earlier thrown out of the nightclub.
At the beginning of April, a 38-year-old holidaymaker from the UK was gravely injured after falling from the third floor of an apartment block close to Magaluf’s party hub.
He was rushed to hospital in the early hours of April 6 with “very serious” injuries to his face and skull.
And just a couple of weeks ago, an Italian man in his 20s was arrested for the alleged rape of a British tourist. The young woman claimed that the pair had been drinking together at a cocktail bar in Palmanova, which borders the holiday resort of Magaluf. Later, when she was very intoxicated, he reportedly lured her to a nearby beach and sexually assaulted her.
