ARCHIVED - Brit tourists arrested for attacking Magaluf security guard
The Mallorca worker suffered a broken hand in the altercation

Two British tourists in their mid-20s have been arrested in the Mallorca party hotspot of Magaluf after physically assaulting a security guard who denied them entry to the popular BH Mallorca Hotel. Ironically, the alarm was originally raised by reception about the UK suspects themselves, since they appeared to be injured.
According to island sources, staff from a different hotel nearby phoned the police shortly after 5am on Friday April 28 and the two men reported an altercation with a security guard.
When the officers went to the BH to question the worker, they were told that he had already gone to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Reception staff then filled in the blanks: the British tourists had returned to the BH hotel, where they weren’t staying, in the company of two female guests they had met earlier in the night. When the security guard on the door refused to allow them up to the rooms, he was attacked by the UK holidaymakers.
As a result, he fell down some steps and suffered a fracture to his hand.
Based on this information, the police returned to the other hotel and arrested the tourists for having caused injury. They were both largely unharmed, although one of the men had a small cut on his eyebrow.
Also in Mallorca, two British tourists got into a vicious barroom brawl last week which reportedly stemmed from a heated argument over politics. One of the men had half his earlobe sliced off with a blade and was rushed to hospital, while the second man was arrested for the attack.
