Brit woman critical after three-car crash in Menorca
Another British tourist and three others were also hurt in the serious accident near Alaior

The 59-year-old was pulled from the wreckage on Tuesday morning, April 15, after a collision involving three vehicles on the Me-1 road, close to the town of Alaior. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 10.30am local time.
She was rushed to Mateu Orfila Hospital in the island’s capital, Mahón, where she remains in intensive care. Another British tourist, who was in the same vehicle, was also injured in the crash.
A 21-year-old Spanish man, believed to have veered into the wrong lane, was driving one of the other vehicles involved. He was also critically injured and had to be cut free by firefighters before being taken to the same hospital’s intensive care unit.
Two more women, aged 19 and 29, one of whom is Spanish, were also taken to hospital, although their conditions are not known.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed: “Three cars were involved and five people injured. Firefighters had to free two of the casualties, a woman aged around 60 and a man in his twenties. One of the five injured people was treated at the scene and didn’t require hospital transfer.”
An investigation into the crash is now underway. Guardia Civil traffic officers are expected to submit a report to the local court.
The incident follows several serious road accidents involving British tourists in Spain in recent months, including a fatal head-on collision in Menorca last September and a tragic crash near La Manga in November when two Britons were killed after a speedboat came loose from a trailer on a motorway.
