Cloudier skies and cooler temperatures: Alicante weekend weather June 4-7
The week is expected to end with a drop in temperatures, increased cloud cover and some scattered showers

After a week that began with intense heat, with temperatures reaching 40°C in some parts of the Alicante Region, the weekend looks like it will offer some respite from the heat. It will still feel warm and there should be plenty of sunshine, but with more cloud around and temperatures dropping slightly compared to the start of the week. Let's take a look at the daily breakdown:
Thursday June 4
It will be a hazy, cloudy start to the day and the cloud will stick around throughout the day. There is even a slight chance of some light rain developing along the northern coast by the evening. The morning will feel noticeably cooler but highs of 33°C are still expected.
Winds will be light and variable early on, turning southerly along the coast after lunch.
Friday June 5
Cloudy conditions are expected for much of the day, although skies should brighten at times later on with some sunny spells breaking through. There is a chance of light rain, mainly in the northern parts of the province, where a few showers could be more noticeable at times.
Night-time temperatures will dip slightly, while daytime highs will fall to around 27°C.
Winds will be light, but strong gusts cannot be ruled out in exposed mountainous areas in the north.
Saturday June 6
Saturday will also be cloudy but temperatures will start to creep back up with highs of 29°C. There is still a slight chance of isolated light showers inland later on.
Winds will stay light and variable, becoming easterly around midday.
Sunday June 7
Sunday will be sunnier and temperatures will be back up in the 30s with highs of 32°C. There will still be some cloud around, especially inland in northern areas.
Winds will remain light and variable, turning easterly in the afternoon.
After the intense heat earlier in the week, the slightly lower temperatures will likely feel like a welcome break, especially in the evenings. Nights should be a bit more comfortable too, offering a chance to sleep more easily before the heat builds again later in the month. It's a good moment to make the most of the cooler air while it lasts.

Minimum and maximum temperatures in the Alicante Region:
Thursday June 4: Min 16ºC, Max 33ºC
Friday June 5: Min 14ºC, Max 27ºC
Saturday June 6: Min 14ºC, Max 29ºC
Sunday June 7: Min 16ºC, Max 32ºC
