ARCHIVED - New 375 million euro hospital in Malaga
With 15 floors and cutting-edge technology, the new Andalucía hospital will be a reference point for highly complex procedures
Andalucía's regional president, Juanma Moreno, has confirmed the construction of the New Hospital of Málaga with an investment of around €375 million.
The new building, designed in an avant-garde style, will have 15 floors, 810 patient rooms, 42 operating rooms, 198 doctor’s consultation rooms, 66 intensive care units and 2,000 parking spaces.
All kinds of new materials and technology will turn this hospital into a refence point for highly complex specialist procedures.
The Andalucía president, who attended the unveiling of the project, stated “the province of Málaga is a cultural, economic and touristic powerhouse” along with being an important research and innovation hub, which are “the key engine towards the social and economic recovery of Andalucía after the pandemic”.

He also mentioned other projects being carried out in Málaga, such as the Metro and the Dry Port.
“We are creating an Andalucía that works, that has a future, that needs to be built by everyone”, said the president, but he also stated that there is “a lot of work ahead” to turn Andalucía into one of the leading autonomous communities.
